Fatemeh Mousavi’s journey into legal technology began in the UK Central Family Court, where she served as an Islamic law expert after completing her GDL and LPC at BPP University. Every day, she witnessed people torn between the high costs and intimidation of traditional legal consultancy and the unreliability of off-the-shelf AI tools. Too many individuals skipped legal support altogether, while qualified paralegals and law graduates were under-utilised. Convinced that there had to be a better way, Fatemeh imagined a platform where anyone could ask a question in plain English and receive affordable, expert-reviewed guidance. Drawing from her legal training and court experience, she envisioned combining artificial intelligence with a community of verified lawyers to summarise insights, highlight consensus and disagreement, and even produce draft documents.
To make that vision a reality, she teamed up with Mahdi Kabir, a full-stack developer who has been honing his skills since he was fifteen. Self-taught and endlessly curious, Mahdi is skilled in various web development technologies and familiar with AI and machine learning tools. He is known among his peers for his calm, creative approach to problem-solving. He saw in Fatemeh’s idea an opportunity to use technology for social impact, bridging the gap between expensive law firms and risky AI. Mahdi designed and built Juriply’s technical backbone, implementing the AI layers and peer-reviewed expert dashboards that power the platform’s hybrid model. Together, Fatemeh’s legal expertise and Mahdi’s technical talent have created a trusted space where people can get quick, structured legal information, and where legal professionals can contribute and be recognised in a new way.
